Epirus lies on the Northwestern part of Greece, it spreads from the Ionian Sea to the boarders of Macedonia & Thessaly, a very large part of land covering everything one would want to see, from amazing seaside areas with turquoise waters such as Sivota & Parga to tall green mountains and canyons with little beautiful stone built villages such as Zagoria.

In mainland Epirus one can find unending beautiful mountains, forests, rivers & lakes all full of life and rare species of the animals and plants many of which are endangered species & protected!
The Western part of Epirus is on the Ionian Sea shores which have some of the best beaches in Greece but also some of the most beautiful seaside towns such as Parga, Sivota & Preveza which are more known to the wider public. The shores of Epirus are become more known every year due to the beauty and peace one can find here. The History of Epirus dates back to 300 BC when is was ruled by Pyrrhus of Epirus.
During the Roman Empire it was province in the Roman Empire Between 146 BC and 395, it was incorporated into the Roman province of Macedonia.The capital of Epirus vetus was Nicopolis, a city founded by Octavian in memory of his victory over Antony and Cleopatra at Actium. One of the greatest and most known battles in ancient history!
Later in the Byzantine era it also played a signifant role called the Despotate or Principality of Epirus. Finally it came under the Ottoman Empire which has left its mark all around Epirus but especially in the City of Ioannina!
