Softly terraced hills bedecked with grapevines, fruit trees and olive groves typify the island's landscape. Pariki, the lively main town and port, is blessed with the most splendid Byzantine church in the Cyclades - Ekatontapyliani, Our Lady of the Hundred Gates. Some of its columns were carved from the same local white marble used to create the Venus de Milo. Abandoned, the marble quarries near Marathi lie silent. Further inland, Lefkes was once the capital. Still the island's highest and loveliest village, it is midway to the west coast resorts of Piso Livadi and Drios. The windsurfing at Chrysi Akti or Golden Beach near Drios is world class.
Naoussa, the second port, stands in a large bay in the north. It has good beaches served by boat taxi, and Kolimvythres is probably the pick of them. By day, piles of yellow fishing nets line the water's edge at Naoussa. At night, the tables of the excellent tavernas take over.
Situated on the beach at Krios, only 2km from Paroikia, the Paros Agnati is a luxury hotel comprised of 50 rooms in 4 separate buildings, each with traditional architecture covering 50 acres.
From its picturesque location at Kolymbithres Beach just 1.5 kilometres from the fishing port of Naoussa, the Astir of Paros commands sweeping views across Naoussa Bay.
Poseidon Hotel and Apartments, lies in the southeastern side of Paros in the area of Golden Beach at Cape Tsoni.
